Upgrade from an automation built on a ScopeDome USB card to a ScopeDome Arduino card.

There are several possibilities depending on the user’s skills and the automation components you have. Usually it is possible to use old motors, inverters, encoder, limit switches, home sensor, hygrometer and motor heaters. Certainly old thermometers will not work. The old Dome and Shutter card will need replacing. ScopeDome Arduino card does not support remote control.

  1. The simplest but also the most expensive option.
Purchase a whole new system including PlugAndPlay wiring.

We dedicate it to users who have no experience in electronics. During the upgrade there is no need to remove the motors, encoder, home sensor, flap limit switches and heaters. It is essential to replace the thermometers for heating the motors and the outside temperature.

Note: it may be necessary to switch the wires in the motors and limit switches on older systems. We cannot guarantee that all old mini fit connectors will fit the new card.

  1. Slightly cheaper and slightly more difficult.

Purchase a new system including PlugAndPlay wiring but without inverters.

If you have an understanding of electronics and will be able to mount and wire the old inverter inside the card case, this is the option for you. Be sure to replace the thermometers.

  1. Relatively cheap.

Purchase the ScopeDome Arduino card in box version. New thermometers will also be necessary.

This option requires the ability to solder plugs. But this way you don’t have to buy expensive dedicated PlugAndPlay wiring. After installing the old inverters in the box and connecting all the old wires to the card, the system will be ready to work.

  1. The cheapest option.
Purchase the cards in the PCB version without a housing.

Please note that in order to connect the card you need to be really familiar with electronics and have considerable manual skills. Especially important is the ability to read electronic schematics.

In this version you can use old motors, inverters, encoder, home sensor, limit switches and motor heaters. As usual, all thermometers should be replaced.

For each of the options, we recommend additionally buying Scope Dome Cloud and Rain Sensor and LCD display for the card.
